Great Britain is the biggest importer of wood pellets

Eurostat reports that in 2016 the UK was again the main European pellet importer with imports of 7.1 million tons (up by 8% from 2015), representing more than half of the total European imports of 13.7 million tons.

Denmark and Italy followed with 14% and 11% shares, respectively. Total European pellet imports increased by 2% in 2016 when compared to 2015.
